Description

The night of August 8 was beautifully clear and I managed to capture 6 hours on the Veil Nebula using the Canon EF 200 mm F2.8 lens with a ZWO Duoband Ha/O3 filter (their version of L-enhance) and the ASI2600mc Pro.  This was processed in Astropixel Processor as a narrow band image, separating the O3 image and Ha image then recombining as an HOO, which seems to give better resolution than just capturing as RGB.  The bulk of the pre-processing and processing was done in APP and then into PixInsight for GHS stretching, noise reduction and reducing stars with StarXterminator.    It is not that common for the full Veil Nebula to be captured in a single frame.  I used the SkyGuider Pro mount with guiding in RA only, with dithering and my guiding was reasonably tight all night.
